Audition Dates: November 1st and 2nd
Synopsis:
It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play brings the beloved holiday film to the stage with a charming theatrical twist: the entire story unfolds as a live
1940s radio broadcast. A small ensemble of performers takes on a wide range of characters, shifting voices, personalities, and roles to create the bustling world of Bedford Falls.
Alongside them, a Stage Manager and
Foley Artist help bring the production to life by creating sound effects in full view of the audience, adding energy, humor, and imagination to every
scene. At the heart of the story is George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man whose dreams and sacrifices have shaped the lives of everyone around him, even when he can no longer see his own worth. On one difficult Christmas Eve, George reaches a moment of despair, but with the guidance of Clarence, a lovable angel hoping to earn his wings, he is
shown what the world might have been like if he had never been born.
Through this journey, George comes to understand the depth of his impact, the love of his family and community, and the enduring holiday message that every life matters.
This production is a special non-season fundraiser event, and season tickets and season ticket benefits do not apply.
This casting breakdown is designed for six actors: three men, two women, and a Stage Manager/Foley Artist who may be played by an actor of any gender. The underlined
names identify the radio performers presenting It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.
