In this one-week intensive, students will gain hands-on experience in all areas of theatre, including singing, acting, stage makeup, dance, storytelling, design, and costuming.
Classes will be held daily beginning Monday, June 8, 2026 through Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon. A dress rehearsal will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in preparation for the Broadway Basics Theatre Camp Showcase to be performed on Saturday, June 13th at 6:00 p.m.
At the end of the intensive Broadway Basics Theatre Camp, we invite parents, family & friends to join our students for a Showcase where creativity takes center stage! An evening dedicated to the students' imaginations, talents and hard work. The Showcase will feature live performances, alongside a display of student-created artwork, costume designs and theatrical props - bringing every aspect of the stage to life. Come celebrate their creativity, support the arts, and be inspired by the next generation of storytellers.
Give your young performer a summer full of laughter, creativity, and confidence with Standing Ovation Theatre’s Summer Youth Improv Class.
This fun and energetic program is designed for students ages 10-18 who want to explore acting in a playful, low-pressure environment while building valuable performance skills along the way. Through improv games, acting activities, and ensemble-based exercises, students will learn how to think on their feet, make bold choices, work together, and have fun on stage.
Whether your child is brand new to theatre or already loves to perform, this class offers a welcoming space to grow, create, and connect.
Dates: July 18 through August 22
Day and Time: Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
The session will conclude with a Student Showcase on August 23 at 2:30 PM, giving students the chance to share their work with family and friends and celebrate everything they’ve learned during the program.
Registration Fee: $150 per student
Students will take part in a variety of fun, engaging activities focused on:
Confidence and stage presence
Creativity and imagination
Listening and teamwork
Quick thinking and spontaneity
Character building and performance skills
Our goal is to create a supportive environment where students can learn, laugh, and grow both on and off the stage.
Improv is a fantastic way for young performers to develop theatrical skills while also building communication, collaboration, and self-confidence. It encourages students to trust their ideas, support one another, and step outside their comfort zones in the best possible way.
And yes, it is also a whole lot of fun.
Come join us for fun improv games, acting activities, and a summer of creativity at Standing Ovation Theatre.
